Chipotle changed their steak recipe and I'm still mad 4 months later
I've eaten at the same Chipotle off I-35 for 8 years, then suddenly last April the steak tasted like grilled shoe leather with extra salt. Corporate says nothing changed, but my usual order went from a 9 to a 4 overnight, so either my taste buds broke or they swapped suppliers. Has anyone else noticed this at their location, or am I just the crazy regular?
Whoa, hold on there. I gotta push back on this one. I'm the opposite, honestly. My local spot swapped things up around that same time and the steak finally tastes like it has some actual seasoning to it. Maybe your location got a bad batch or a new grill guy who's just torching everything. I mean, four months of bad steak is rough, but I've had good luck since the change, so maybe it's not the recipe itself. Did you ever try asking them to cook it a little less or get it in a bowl instead of a burrito? Sometimes it's how they prep it, not what they're putting on it.
