I ragged on air fryers for 2 years... then my brother made chicken wings in one.
I swore they were just a countertop dust collector until I actually tried some wings he did at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. They came out crispier than my deep fryer ever did, so now I'm the guy who tells everyone to get one. Anybody else cave on something they were super against?

Wait, 12 minutes at 400 degrees and it beats a deep fryer? That's wild, I gotta say I didn't see that coming. My brother's a pretty good cook but I'm still skeptical about the texture being that good without a ton of oil.

Did you actually try it yourself or is this based on what your brother said? Because the texture thing is what gets me too, I've had too many sad oven fries that came out like cardboard sticks. The trick with the air fryer is the rapid air circulation, it dries out the outside way faster than a regular oven.

Have you actually tried them from an air fryer yourself though? I was skeptical too until I finally caved and got one, and the difference is real because the hot air hits every side at once instead of just blasting the top. Oven fries get sad because they steam in their own moisture, but an air fryer pushes all that wet air out so you get that crunch without needing a pool of oil.
