My barista friend called me out for always ordering the same drink and it hit different
I was at a coffee shop in Portland last week and my buddy Jen said I was stuck in a rut because I always get a black drip coffee no matter what. She pointed out that I've never even tried their seasonal specials in the 2 years we've known each other. It got me thinking about how many things in my life I just do on autopilot without questioning if there's something better. Has anyone else had a friend call them out on something small that made you rethink your whole approach?

5 years ago I used to order the same complicated latte every time and thought i was being efficient. But when my friend pointed out i was missing out on fun limited flavors I actually switched to trying new things every week. Now I look forward to tasting something different and honestly it makes the whole coffee run feel fresh again.

That's a good point, Nancy. It's easy to get into a rut with coffee orders. I still order the same thing most days but you've got me thinking maybe I should mix it up a bit.
