Pro tip: I used to wash all my jeans inside out until a tailor at a local shop in Omaha told me to stop
Turns out the friction from inside-out washing wears down the fabric faster on the seams, not slower like I thought. Has anyone else gotten bad laundry advice from a well-meaning friend?

That tip about turning things inside out gets passed around so much, people just assume it's true without thinking about the seam wear. I've heard the opposite about drying too, that high heat is way worse for the fibers than anything else.

People just assume it's true without thinking about the seam wear" - yeah that's exactly what gets me too lol. @ivanbell I've ruined so many shirts that way before I figured out it's not really worth it for most stuff. The heat thing is a real toss up though, I just avoid the dryer altogether for anything I care about and hang dry instead. It's slower but my clothes actually last way longer than they used to.
