Unpopular opinion: that IT guy was right about me needing a second monitor for one specific task
Last month at my office in Austin, the IT guy Dave told me my spreadsheet work would go faster if I used two screens. I laughed it off, said I was fine with tabs. Then I had to reconcile 40 vendor invoices against a 300-line ledger, and I kept losing my place between tabs. I finally borrowed a spare monitor from the break room for a day, and it cut my time by maybe 45 minutes. I hate that he was right, but has anyone else had a simple tool they refused to try until it clicked overnight?

Dave told me the same thing about my keyboard shortcuts back in 2021. I thought I was too fast with the mouse. Then I had to copy 500 customer IDs into a billing system and my wrist started cramping up. Learned Alt+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+V in one afternoon. Saved me at least an hour that week. Now I tell everyone to just try the tool for one day. Even if it feels dumb at first. You'll know by lunch if it works or not.
