Unpopular take: cold plunges are just expensive showers with extra steps

My buddy dropped $300 on a tub last month and now he won't shut up about his 'mental clarity.' I tried his setup on Tuesday, sat in 45 degree water for 4 minutes, and all I got was numb toes and a headache. It's a fad for people who never had to take cold showers in a college dorm with broken heating. Has anyone else noticed this whole trend is just rich folks paying to feel bad on purpose?
