Hot take: the push to ban To Kill a Mockingbird in 2020 did more harm than good
I get why people want it gone, but my school board in Ann Arbor cut it from the 9th grade list and replaced it with nothing that talks about race at all, so the kids just stopped hearing the word. Reading the book and arguing about the language is better than pretending the history does not exist.
