The Giver was challenged in my kids school back in 2014 - fast forward to 2024 and it's back on the shelf with a warning label

Which side is worse, pulling it completely or keeping it with a note that basically says 'this book might make you think too hard' and has anyone seen other districts slap a warning label on classics instead of just banning them outright?

Oh man, our school library once put a "parental guidance suggested" sticker on Where the Wild Things Are.

Our librarian growing up was convinced that "The Giving Tree" encouraged kids to be selfish... she kept it in the adult section next to the gardening books.
