Got banned from a gardening forum for saying mulch volcanoes kill trees
I posted a photo of my neighbor's new landscaping where they piled mulch 6 inches high around the base of a maple tree. A mod deleted it and said I was fearmongering. Two days later that same tree started dropping leaves, but I guess I'm the bad guy. Anybody else run into lawn care folks who won't hear it?

Man that sucks, "fearmongering" over something that's literally a proven tree killer. I've seen the same thing with lawn crews who act like you're attacking their whole livelihood when you point out basic plant science. Hopefully that neighbor figures it out before the maple is a total loss.
