Got banned from a plumbing forum for calling out bad advice
A guy named Mike on a DIY site told me to use duct tape on a gas line leak in my basement. I said that was dangerous and got silenced within 2 hours. Has anyone else seen dangerous tips slip through moderation on those sites?

Point out that the mods probably didn't understand the danger because they aren't actual plumbers themselves.

Did they duct tape your mouth shut too, or just your account? Sounds like that forum's safety standards are about as solid as Mike's gas line fix.
