Got blocked on a gardening forum for saying compost piles need meat scraps sometimes

I posted in a big gardening group about how I add leftover chicken bones and fat scraps to my compost bin, sealed tight so pests don't get in. A moderator banned me within 20 minutes citing 'unsafe composting practices.' But my pile breaks down way faster with that extra nitrogen and calcium, and I've been doing it for 4 years without issues. Has anyone else tried unconventional composting that got you shouted down?

Man that's rough, moderators can be super rigid about "the rules" even when actual results speak for themselves. Did you point them to any studies or just argue from experience?

Showed them a study, they said it wasn't in the official format.

So the mods over there got a degree in compost policing or what? Sounds like they'd freak out if they saw my pile with old bacon grease mixed in with the leaves. I bet they'd ban me for life if they knew I toss eggshells in without baking them first. Guess my 4 years of rich, dark compost doesn't count if it didn't follow their sacred rules. Maybe next time I'll submit a formal request to the compost council for approval before I throw anything in.
