Got kicked out of a Facebook group for saying my kid's school lunches don't need a bento box
So last Tuesday I posted in this lunch prep group with like 40k members, just saying that I pack my 8 year old a sandwich, an apple, and a cheese stick in a regular $3 container and he eats every bite. A mod deleted it in ten minutes and said I was "shaming parents who put in effort." I was not trying to shame anyone, I was just tired of feeling bad for not owning cute little silicone cups. Three other moms messaged me saying they got booted for similar stuff. Is there a group out there that is just normal lunches without the crafts?

Wondering what exactly set them off, because "my kid eats a sandwich fine" is not an attack on anyone. Was it the bento thing itself or did you say something in the comments after? For real though, a cheese stick and an apple is a solid lunch, and if the kid cleans the whole thing then what is the problem. Groups like that always start as sharing and turn into a contest where the $3 container gets you shown the door. I'd honestly start a plain lunches group myself at this point, call it something like "Sandwich and a Fruit Club" and watch 40k people show up in a week.
