Pitched a blog post about why self-checkout kiosks are worse than cashiers and got shadowbanned from Medium

I laid out how self-checkout saves stores money but passes the work to us, and the algorithms just flagged it as 'low quality debate'... anyone else notice certain platforms bury stuff that pushes back on automation?

Martin.riley, that's exactly what I was wondering too when I read that. The platforms love to frame automation as progress and anything critical as just "debate." Man, it's frustrating because you laid it out plain - self-checkout is just unpaid labor dressed up as convenience. Medium's algorithm probably can't tell the difference between a thoughtful critique and a troll rant, so it just nukes anything that doesn't fit their shiny future narrative. I've seen similar stuff happen with posts about gig economy abuse getting flagged for "low quality" when they're actually well-researched. It's like they want you to shut up and accept the robot takeover without questioning it.

Man, that's the thing that gets me. A buddy of mine wrote a decent piece about how hospital janitors get treated like invisible workers because of all the automation hype. He spent weeks on it, cited actual union reports, and it got flagged for "spam or low value" within an hour. Meanwhile a listicle called "5 Robots That Will Change Your Coffee Break" stays up forever. It's like they're trying to keep real talk about people getting squeezed out of sight.

Yeah but what's actually in it that got flagged?
