That $200 air purifier I bought during fire season was a total dud

Picked up a fancy air purifier during the wildfires last summer for around $200. It made this weird humming noise and the filter clogged up in like 4 days. Tried cleaning it but the thing just stopped moving air altogether. Has anyone else had luck with a different brand that actually works when the smoke gets bad?

Honestly, I see it a little differently. A $200 purifier dying in a few days sounds less like a dud and more like it was never designed for serious wildfire smoke, which is super heavy duty. Most cheap models just can't handle that high a load, so the filter getting wrecked fast isn't shocking to me.

Filter clogged in 4 DAYS? That's insane. My old air purifier from Home Depot ran for weeks during the last fire season and I only had to change the filter once at the end. Yours must have been sucking up actual dust bunnies or something to die that fast. I'd be so mad spending $200 on a machine that just gave up after a few days. Did you try to return it or did the store give you a hard time?
