Vent: Got banned from a gardening forum for saying roundup isn't always evil
Last Tuesday I posted in a gardening sub about using roundup on poison ivy along my fence line in Austin, and within 2 hours I was permanently banned. The mod said I was promoting dangerous chemicals, but I explained I only spot-treated 15 feet of overgrown weeds that were hurting my kids. Has anyone else been shut down for talking about practical uses of stuff the internet hates?

My friend got banned from a cooking sub for mentioning microwaving eggs.

Microwaved eggs are fine, I've made them for years without any issue.

Jumping right in - those gardening mods are way too trigger happy. I got banned from a keto sub for saying potatoes aren't the devil, just portion control matters. @max_brown microwaved eggs are actually solid, I do that all the time for quick breakfasts. The internet loves black and white rules but real life is gray. Roundup on poison ivy next to kids makes total sense, you gotta protect them from that rash.
