Just realized I owe the discontinued lye soap an apology, 5 years late
Back in 2019 I grabbed a bar of that old lye soap from a hardware store in Akron for $6 and figured the recall talk was just hype. Used it once, got a rash on my forearms, and tossed it in a drawer for half a decade. Found it during a closet cleanout in March, read the label closer, and realized I'd been using it on wet skin instead of drying off first like the wrapper said. Rash never came back after 3 weeks of use, and now I'm mad I blamed the soap instead of my own dumb routine. Anyone got a stash of this stuff or know why it got pulled in the first place?
