I grabbed two boxes of the creamy garlic flavor back in March at a Kroger in Austin before the recall hit over the metal fragment reports. The recall notice only listed certain lot numbers but mine matched one on the FDA site, so I tossed the sealed box but kept the open one because I already ate half and figured I was fine. Last week I finished the rest and felt this weird scratch in my throat for two days, not saying it was definitely that but my doctor in Round Rock said it could be micro abrasions from something sharp. The problem is stores pulled the obvious batches but resellers online still list them at $8 a pop like collectibles, and people keep buying them for novelty. I get the nostalgia angle but this isnt a fun banned hero story, this is a safety gap where the recall dates are confusing and lots overlap. Why is nobody talking about how the replacements hit shelves under a new name but the same factory code? Has anyone else eaten a recalled batch and dealt with after effects, or am I just paranoid here?
