Finally switched from clipper oils to a spray lubricant for my blades

I was dead set on using that thin clipper oil for 8 years, thought sprays were just for home hobbyists. Picked up a can of Cool Care Plus from the barber supply after my last Wahl blade seized up mid-fade on a client. Sprayed it on, ran the clipper for 10 seconds, and the blade was ice cold and smooth. The oil made everything gunky after two cuts, the spray keeps my blades running for a full week before I need to clean them again. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed their blades lasting longer? I'm on the same set for 3 months now without a single replacement.

Three months on one blade set without replacement is pretty good, Lewis mentioned alignment issues but did you notice any weird vibrations before you sprayed it? I ask because I had a Wahl clipper where the blade drive fork got bent from a drop and spray wouldn't fix that no matter how much I used it. The spray just masked the problem until the blade started chattering again two days later. It sounds like you caught yours early enough but maybe pop the blade off and check the drive pin for any wobble next time you clean it.

Just be careful with that spray around the blade alignment, that's more of a temporary fix than a real cure. Doesn't always sort out the root cause if it's a deeper issue with the motor or balance.
