I think the 'skin fade only' policy at a lot of shops is a mistake
We turned away a regular who just wanted a simple trim because the owner insists on fades, and I watched him walk across the street to a competitor. How many classic cuts are we losing over a trend?

Yeah, that bit about turning away a regular is rough. My buddy's old barber went fade-only a few years back. He just wanted his usual part and trim, got told no, and never went back. That shop closed last year. I mean, maybe it's just me, but you gotta keep the guys who've been coming in for twenty years happy, right?

But specializing builds a strong brand that actually attracts MORE loyal clients.

Read a piece about barbers who only do fades going out of business when the trend shifts. It makes sense to keep offering the basics, because not everyone wants the same look. Turning away a regular over policy is just bad for business.
