My clippers died mid fade last Saturday and I had to finish with a $12 backup pair
Last Saturday around 4pm I had a guy in the chair for a mid fade and my main clippers just quit. No warning, no weird noise, just dead. I keep a cheap $12 pair from a big box store in my drawer for emergencies, so I grabbed those and tried to blend the sides. The lines were awful at first because the blade was dull and pulling hair instead of cutting it. I had to go over the same spot like five times and the guy could feel it, I could tell by the way he kept shifting in the chair. I ended up fading it up higher than he asked for just to hide the mess, and he still tipped me $5. I ordered a new set that night from my phone while eating cold pizza. Now I have three backups in the shop and I check them every Monday. What do you all do when a tool dies in the middle of a cut?
