My tool caddy setup finally clicked, but my coworker thinks it's too much fuss.
I rearranged my station so everything is within reach, and it shaved minutes off each cut. He says it looks cluttered and prefers a minimalist approach. Where do you stand on this?

Your setup just has to feel right in your hands, not his eyes.

My buddy's mechanical keyboard sounds amazing, but he gets constant complaints during late night gaming sessions. If your setup actively bothers people you share space with, their eyes are the least of your problems. A loud clicky switch in a quiet apartment or a blinding RGB wall in a dark room forces your choices on others. Sometimes the social feedback is just as important as the personal feel.

But where's the line with "feeling right" though? Like if it's literally keeping people up, does that still count as just personal preference?

Ever think about what happens when people stop complaining and just resent you instead? Tbh that keyboard noise or blinding lights might feel great to you, but it tells everyone else their peace doesn't matter. You can love your setup and still be a bad roommate. Honestly, forcing your vibe on a shared space just trains people to avoid you. It's not about the gear, it's about basic respect.
