PSA: A full trash can of cape covers made me see our shop's waste problem
I was cleaning up and saw the bin overflowing with those thin plastic capes. We go through a box every couple days, which is a lot of trash. So I ordered some heavy duty cloth capes that we wash after each use. It took a week to get used to the laundry, but now it's just part of closing. We're spending less on supplies and the cloth feels nicer for clients. This little shift made me look at other stuff we throw out, like product bottles. I'm now trying to find a place that recycles them for barbers.

My local coffee shop switched to ceramic mugs for sit-down customers last year. It made me see how many businesses rely on throwaway items without a second thought. Your cape change shows that small routine shifts can cut down a lot of trash. It bothers me how much plastic waste comes from simple daily services. We have gotten used to tossing things that could easily be washed and reused. Your step to look at product bottles next is exactly the kind of awareness we need.

Hey Oliver, I read that some cities are banning those tiny hotel shampoo bottles.
