Shoutout to the simple mirror trick for checking necklines

I used to struggle with seeing the back of a client's head. Now I angle a second mirror to get a clear view. Does anyone else use this method?

Honestly mirrors can straight up lie to you though. Got burned once cause the angle made a fade look even but the natural light showed a totally different story. Now I always do a final check without any mirror tricks, just old school walk around the chair.

Saw a tutorial once that said good lighting is key with mirror tricks, otherwise you miss the texture. They recommended using a small hand mirror close to the neckline for the cleanest view. It basically gives you a zoomed-in look at the line without any weird angles. Makes blending out those lower edges way more precise.

lol it's funny how many problems get solved by just adding a mirror

You know, I used to think mirrors were just for checking the back. But after seeing what aliceb80 said about angles lying, I started using two mirrors together like a periscope. It shows you the side view in the big mirror so you catch those lighting tricks. Now I get why a simple mirror solves so much, it's like having an extra set of eyes. What kind of mirror setup do you use?
