Talked to an old school barber at the shop yesterday and he changed how I hold my shears
He told me I was gripping too tight with my thumb and it was messing with my control. Tried loosening up on my last 3 fades and my lines came out way cleaner. Anyone else get told they hold their shears wrong?

Heard a friend say the same thing after a sushi chef showed him how to hold his knife.

...and the same thing happened to me but with a paintbrush. I always death-gripped it until an old painter told me to hold it like a baby bird. Took a few tries but now my edges are way smoother and my hand doesn't cramp up after an hour. Funny how something that simple can make a huge difference.
