Watched my own haircut videos from 3 years ago and saw a huge difference
I was scrolling through my phone last night and found some old clips of cuts I did in 2021. Compared them to what I did this morning on a similar client with thick wavy hair. The difference in the blend from the fade into the top was night and day back then versus now. What changed for me was finally learning how to use my clippers with the grain instead of fighting against it. Anyone else notice a big jump in quality after a specific technique clicked for you?

Honestly, I kinda disagree lol. If anything, my haircuts were way cleaner back then before I started overthinking all the "proper" techniques. Too much fussing with the grain just made my blends look muddy.

Oh man, isn't it funny how overthinking stuff just makes it worse? I used to spend forever watching tutorials and then my trims came out all patchy compared to when I just went for it.

Same kind of thing happens in cooking too. Once you stop fighting the ingredient and start working with it, everything just flows better.
