Rant: I swore a $900 non-running tractor in Guthrie was junk, then my buddy pulled the plug on the fuel bowl
Turned out it was just 6 year old gas gumming up the carb, fired up in 20 minutes. What's the cheapest dead rig you ever dragged home that actually ran?
Six year old gas, huh? That stuff turns into varnish and people just assume the whole machine is shot. My cheapest was a $150 riding mower that would not turn over, guy had it sitting under a tarp for two winters. New battery and a can of carb cleaner and it fired right up like nothing ever happened, I felt almost bad for the guy. Point is, half the "junk" out there is just neglected, not dead. A fuel bowl and some fresh gas fixes more rigs than any mechanic will ever admit. Nice score on that tractor.
