Showerthought: I dropped $140 on an ultrasonic cleaner for carb parts and it was a waste
Everyone on the forums swears by these things for barn find carbs, so I bought a 6 liter one from a guy in Toledo for $140 and ran my Quadrajet off a 1978 truck through it for two days. It loosened the easy gunk but did nothing for the hard varnish in the idle circuit, and a $12 can of Berryman dip plus a rebuild kit had it running better in one afternoon. The cleaner is now holding bolts in my shed. What do you guys use on bodies that sat with old gas for 15 years, or am I just not running it hot enough?
