I stopped posting at 9am and my engagement doubled in two weeks

I was posting my art at 9am like every 'expert' said to. Got like 20 likes max. Switched to 11pm on a whim after seeing a random tweet about night owls. In 14 days my average jumped to 80+ likes per post. Has anyone else found that the 'best time' advice is actually garbage for your specific audience?

experts" lol yeah i stopped trusting that stuff after i found out my best performing posts were at 3am when nobody should even be online. i run a small fanart page and one night i was just messing around and posted at like 2:45am cause i couldn't sleep. that post got way more traction than anything i'd posted during the "prime hours". turns out my audience is full of night shift workers and college students pulling all nighters. now i just post whenever i feel like it and my engagement is all over the place but at least its better than when i tried to follow the rules. honestly the whole algorithm thing is a mess and nobody really knows what works.

Honestly I used to be one of those people who swore by the 9am rule and told everyone else to do it too. But after trying random times for a month I totally get what you're saying now, my weirdest hours always get the most unexpected hits. It's like the algorithm rewards people who break the mold instead of following the same boring schedule as everyone else.
