Rant: I hid hashtags in my first comment for 3 years and one screenshot from a friend in Dallas broke me
A buddy in Dallas sent me a screenshot last Tuesday where my caption, first comment, and all those tags showed up as one big messy pile on his feed. That is when it clicked that burying tags in the comments does nothing, the app just reads the post and the comment as the same thing anyway. So for 3 years I was basically tagging into a void while also making my own comments look like spam. I pulled the tags out and started writing 3 to 5 real ones inside the caption itself, and my reach on a post about my dog went from 180 views to a little over 900 in 2 days. Has anyone else tested tags in the caption against tags in the comments and actually seen a gap, or did I just get lucky on that one post?
