Rant: My cousin runs a bakery and her 30-second video outdid my 2-hour edit
She just films the bread coming out of the oven on her phone, posted it at 9am on a Tuesday, and got 12k views while my carefully made reel with music and captions got 80, so what's the point of editing anymore, and has anyone else seen raw clips beat polished ones every single time?

12k versus 80, that's a whole different universe of numbers, I can't even wrap my head around it. And the fact that she filmed it on her phone, no editing, no nothing, just the bread coming out of the oven? That's the part that stings the most honestly. I've spent entire weekends on a single edit, tweaking every transition and color grade, and then some random 30-second clip just blows it out of the water. It really makes you question if all that effort is just for our own satisfaction, you know? Like maybe the algorithm just loves that raw, unfiltered moment because it feels real, while our polished stuff comes off as too try-hard. I get why you're frustrated, because I'd probably want to throw my editing software out the window too after seeing that.
