Vent: I wasted 8 months putting hashtags at the end of my captions, and a 19 year old at a coffee shop in Portland is the one who clued me in

Wasted way more time than that doing the same thing. I spent almost two years dumping 30 tags at the bottom of every post because some guy on YouTube said that was the trick. My reach was flat the whole time and I kept telling myself it just takes patience. Then I started actually reading what the tags were for and realized most of them had nothing to do with what I was posting. Cut it down to a few that actually fit and my stuff started getting seen within a couple weeks. It kills me that some kid half my age had to point out what should've been obvious. Live and learn I guess.
