Wasted $50 on a social media scheduling tool that did nothing for my reach
I paid for Buffer for three months thinking it would boost my Instagram views, but my posts actually got less engagement than when I manually posted at random times.

Gotta agree with the others here. Those scheduling tools really mess with the algorithm and it's not worth the money at all. I tried one for a month and saw my engagement drop way down compared to just posting whenever I felt like it. The platforms definitely know when you're using third party apps and they punish you for it. At least you learned this lesson after three months instead of a whole year like some people do.

I read something from a social media manager on LinkedIn who said these scheduling tools actually hurt your reach because Instagram's algorithm can tell when you're not posting in real time. Buffer and Later both got called out for this in a blog post I saw last week. Something about how the platform prioritizes posts that are manually uploaded through the app versus third party tools. I tried Hootsuite for a week and noticed my story views dropped by like 30 percent, so I just cancel and go back to posting manually. Not saying it's the same for everyone but that $50 could have bought you a decent lunch instead.
