Hit 1,000 tickets closed in a year and nobody at corporate blinked
Last month I finished my 12th month on the help desk at a giant telecom company and the system showed I closed exactly 1,003 tickets. I thought that was a big deal, so I brought it up in our team meeting. My supervisor just said "cool, keep the average up" and moved on. The funny part is I got a $25 gift card for a random customer compliment, but zero recognition for that number. Has anyone else hit a milestone like this and gotten basically nothing for it?
Corporate only notices the loud stuff, not the steady work. That gift card for the compliment is actually your proof of what matters to them. Use that to your advantage, start logging every compliment you get, even the small ones, and bring those to your next review. Also, the 1,003 number is great for your resume, so put it in your linkedin and start talking to recruiters. Nobody at your company is gonna pat you on the back, so you gotta market yourself with those numbers. Keep closing tickets, but do it for your next job, not for them.
