Spent 3 years CCing my manager on every client email, and a new hire asked why I was hiding from my own job
Nobody ever told me it was wrong, but watching her send updates straight to the client with no babysitter made me realize I was basically asking permission for stuff I was hired to handle. I went back through my sent folder and found 400 plus emails from last year with my manager cc'd on stuff like scheduling calls. How do you all figure out where the actual line is when nobody gives you one?
Why do we treat a boss being copied like a safety blanket instead of realizing it just makes us look unsure? It is the same thing as asking a friend to order for you at a restaurant you have been going to for years.
