The conference room projector fiasco that derailed my presentation
Last Tuesday I had a big client pitch in the Dallas office, and I got to the room 20 minutes early to test the projector. The screen showed a cryptic error about a firmware update, and the IT number on the wall just rang and rang. After 10 minutes I finally tracked down a maintenance guy who said the projector had been acting up since Monday. He pressed some buttons on the unit and the thing started flashing rainbow colors, then it just shut off completely. I ended up presenting from my laptop to a group of 12 people huddled around a tiny screen, and somehow the client loved it anyway. Has anyone else dealt with a room tech failure that made you look like you forgot to prepare, even though you did everything right?
