Update: found a paper from 1961 that clocked a stone lighter than my lunchbox, and I can't stop thinking about it
Was digging through old engineering journals at the library in Fort Wayne and hit a writeup on a 1961 experiment where a 4 pound stone cut to a certain shape lifted with less pull than it weighed. My crew thinks I've lost it, but has anyone here actually tried the old counterweight shapes to see if the math holds up?
