Binged 'The Bear' in one weekend and now I can't watch cooking shows the same way

I was laid up with a bad back last Saturday and figured I'd watch one episode, but 8 hours later I'd burned through the whole first season. Has anyone else had a show completely ruin a whole genre for them after a binge?

Man, eight hours of a show about chefs being miserable won't do that to you? I was the same way after "Chef's Table" made me realize how much actual blood and stress goes into a perfect plate. Now I can't watch Food Network without feeling like everyone's hiding a breakdown behind the smile.

Read a study that said like 90% of kitchen staff deal with substance abuse or burnout. Kinda makes you wonder how many of those Food Network stars are just really good at hiding the same stuff. The shows definitely feel different once you know what goes on behind the line.

I read somewhere that most of those Food Network competition shows film like 6 episodes in 24 hours. No wonder some of those contestants look like they're about to snap.
