Finally binged The Bear this weekend after putting it off for a year

I kept hearing people rave about it on this sub but figured a show about a kitchen couldn't hold my attention for more than one episode. Then last Saturday I sat down at 9pm and before I knew it the sun was coming up and I had watched the whole first season. Did anyone else feel like those high stress kitchen scenes actually made your heart race or is that just me?

Used to roll my eyes at people saying a TV show gave them anxiety. Then I watched The Bear and yeah, my chest was tight through pretty much every kitchen scene. That episode with the to-go order breakdown was almost too much. It switched something in my brain about how much respect kitchen workers deserve.

A buddy of mine worked in a restaurant and said that show was basically a documentary.

Yeah I read somewhere they actually trained the actors in real kitchens for weeks before filming.
