Had to choose between starting House of the Dragon or rewatching The Office for the fifth time

I was at my parents' house last Sunday with a whole afternoon free and no clue what to watch. My brother kept pushing House of the Dragon because he said the dragons looked amazing. But I ended up picking The Office again because I just needed something I knew would make me laugh. Now it's been a week and I still haven't touched the new show. Did anyone else pick a comfort show over a big new one and kind of feel like you missed out?

You said you "needed something that would make you laugh" but honestly that just sounds like you're scared to try something new. The Office has been done to death and you know every beat of every episode by now. House of the Dragon has actual dragons and political backstabbing that keeps you on your toes. You're not missing out if you already made your choice, but you're selling yourself short by sticking with the same old jokes instead of diving into a world that actually surprises you.

Scared to try something new" is kind of harsh man. Some nights I just wanna veg out and know exactly when Jim is gonna look at the camera again. Not everything has to be a surprise you know?

Used to think grant478 had a point about trying new stuff, but honestly this changed my mind. Sometimes you just need the reliable laugh more than the big spectacle, and there's nothing wrong with that. You catch yourself rewatching any specific episodes yet?
