I finally gave up on that hyped crime drama after 3 episodes
Started watching that new detective show everyone's raving about on Tuesday night. By the third episode, the main guy was still explaining basic police work to his partner like she was a rookie. The dialogue was so clunky I actually checked my phone 12 times in one episode. Does anyone else just bail on shows when the writing feels lazy like that?

You know what they say about clunky dialogue, my attention span is basically a gnat on caffeine anyway so checking my phone 12 times is basically a victory lap for me. I made it through one and a half episodes of that show before I started timing how long the main guy could stare dramatically out a window without saying anything useful, which turned out to be a solid 47 seconds. It's like the writers got paid by the word and just padded it with bad explanations instead of actual detective work.

47 seconds of staring... that's commitment right there.

Count how many times did they actually solve anything with real detective work in those three episodes?
