Just realized skipping intros during my binge ruined part of the show for me
I recently binged a crime drama and skipped the intro every episode to save time. I mean, who doesn't do that, right? But after I finished, I found out that the intro visuals actually had Easter eggs related to each episode's plot. Now I feel like I cheated myself out of some cool details. Maybe it's just me, but I never considered intros as part of the story. When you binge, it's easy to just jump into the action. I'm wondering if I should start paying more attention to these things. Idk, maybe binge-watching makes us rush too much. What do you guys think?

Read an article once about how some show runners put real work into those opening sequences. They're not just filler, sometimes they're hiding clues or setting a specific mood. Binge culture totally trains you to skip them, but you're right, it can strip out some of the craft. Felt the same way when I blasted through a mystery show and missed all the subtle intro changes. Makes you feel a bit dumb for treating it like a loading screen. Maybe the trick is to watch it the first time each sitting, then skip the repeats.

My roommate Sam is a film student, and he pointed out how the 'Game of Thrones' intro shows the story's locations. It changes each episode to show where the action is (which is pretty clever), and I never noticed until he said something. Now I see intros as little clues the creators leave for careful viewers.

After missing Westworld hints, I watch all intros now.

My buddy Dave got super into that show "Severance" and was convinced the intro held some big secret. He'd watch it frame by frame, pointing out weird little details in the office layout and the paperwork on the desks. Turns out he was totally right, and a bunch of the stuff he spotted actually paid off later in the season. He said it felt like he was solving a puzzle the show made just for people who paid attention, which is way cooler than just hitting skip. Kinda makes you want to give every intro a proper look at least once.
