My brother and I used to watch 'The X-Files' on a tiny TV in our basement every Friday night, and he'd always pause it to explain the conspiracy theories.

Now I'm trying to watch the new season on a huge screen by myself, and I realized I miss those dumb explanations more than the show itself, so what's a show you watched with someone that you can't enjoy alone now?

Is it really that deep though? I mean yeah it sucks not having someone to watch with but the show itself is still there. Maybe you just got older and the new seasons aren't as good.

Happens with everything now doesn't it. We traded interruptions for silence and forgot the best part was the person next to you.

Yeah, you know what, that actually hit me hard. I used to be the guy who'd say "just watch it alone, what's the big deal" and I was on @gray875's side for a long time. But then my wife went on a work trip for two weeks and I binged a whole season of something without her. And yeah, the show was fine, but I kept turning to say something and nobody was there. It was just... empty. I never realized how much I was actually enjoying the little comments and pauses, not just the show itself. You're right, we really did trade something good for something quiet.
