Started watching shows with captions on and it changed how I binge

I always thought captions would be distracting, but I tried it last month during "The Bear" and I caught way more dialogue. Has anyone else found their show choices changed after switching to subtitles?

Respectfully, I gotta disagree with this one. Captions actually make me miss the visual stuff because I'm staring at the bottom of the screen the whole time. For shows like "The Bear" where the acting and camera work are half the experience, I felt like I was just reading a book with pictures in the background. It totally killed the vibe for me and I switched back after two episodes. Maybe it works for some people but I'd rather miss a line here and there than lose the whole mood of a scene.

@aaron740 I feel you, I'm basically gonna need bifocals by next month from squinting at captions. But honestly, I'm the dumbest person in the room half the time so missing lines is like a weekly thing for me. Captions saved my relationship with my TV.
