TIL the intro music on The Wire was actually a public safety announcement in Baltimore
I was reading an article about overlooked show details and found out that season 1's opening was based on a real city PSA about staying out of abandoned buildings. It makes the whole show hit different knowing that. Has anyone else found a weird behind-the-scenes fact that changed how they watched a series?

Man, that reminds me of a buddy who binged Deadwood and found out half the insults were real 1800s slang from court records. He still quotes "cocksucker" at family dinners like it's Shakespeare.
