Took me 3 seasons but I finally get why everyone loves The Bear

Honestly I thought it was just another stressful chef show until episode 7 of season 2 where they do that single take dinner service. The anxiety and focus in that scene totally flipped my opinion. Has anyone else had a specific episode change their mind on a show?

Right? That single take episode completely changed how I saw the whole show too.

Man, that episode really hit different. Felt like watching a whole different show for a minute.

But that single take thing, was it the gimmick that made it hit different or just how raw the dialogue felt? I keep thinking about that scene in the kitchen, the silence before she finally said something. Was it the first time you really believed the tension between them, or did it just make everything else feel fake in comparison? Curious if that episode saved the season for you or if it felt like a one-off fluke.

Nobody mentions how much the sound design carries that whole episode.
