Found a cheap way to stop my anvil from walking on concrete

Cut up an old truck mud flap and put it under the stand. The rubber grips the floor and dampens the ring, cost me nothing. Anyone else have a good fix for this?

Oh man, that's brilliant. My anvil used to wander around like it was trying to find a better job. I tried a yoga mat first and it just shot across the garage when I missed a hit. Felt like I was forging in a bouncy castle. Your mud flap idea is way smarter than my nonsense.

Actually think the yoga mat idea has some real merit. That bounce could help absorb shock and save your joints over time. A totally still anvil might transfer more vibration right up your arms. Sometimes letting things move a bit is smarter than locking them down completely.
