Pro tip: a farrier at the Polk County fair told me my hammer grip was the problem, not my arm
I've been fighting a sore elbow for 6 months and figured it was just part of getting older, but this old boy watching me work said I was choking up too tight on the handle and killing my swing. Tried a looser two finger grip for a week on some railroad spike hooks and the elbow pain is basically gone. Any of you ever had someone point out something that simple that you'd been missing for ages?
Isn't it funny how the fix is almost never where we're looking? We stare at the sore spot forever when the real problem is some tiny habit we picked up years ago and never noticed. Same thing happened to me with my back until a guy at the gym pointed out I was locking my knees the whole time.
