Why does nobody talk about the brick forge trick for rust removal
I was pretty sure that soaking rusty metal in a mix of vinegar and salt was a waste of time. A guy named Dale at a hammer-in in Ohio told me to try it on a old horse shoe that was solid orange. I left it in for 2 days, pulled it out, and the rust just fell off with a wire brush. The metal underneath was pitted but totally workable for a wall hook. I did a whole bucket of old chain links after that and saved myself about $40 in flap discs. Has anyone else tried this on thicker stock, or am I about to waste a week on a failed experiment?
