Had a chat with my grandpa last night about music
He played me a 78 rpm record of some big band from the 40s and I swear the brass section hit harder than anything I've heard on Spotify this year, has anyone else noticed older recordings just feel more alive?

That brass section hit different because of how they recorded back then. Everything was live in one room with no autotune or digital tricks, so the sound had this punch and depth you just don't get from modern recordings. Those old mics and tape machines caught the full energy of the performance instead of compressing it into something clean and flat like we do now. The musicians also played together in real time, which gave it that raw, alive feel that digital editing kind of kills.
