I finally watched The Godfather after years of hearing people hype it up

My roommate kept saying it's the greatest movie ever made, and modern films don't even come close. I sat down last night with a bowl of popcorn and finally gave it a shot. Honestly, the acting blew me away, but the pacing felt super slow compared to what I'm used to. Do you think old classics actually hold up or are we just nostalgic for a slower time in movies?

Man I felt the same way when I first watched it. I had to split it into two nights because I kept falling asleep. Once I got used to the slower pace though I really started appreciating all the small details in the scenes. The acting is just incredible and that makes the whole thing worth it even if it takes its sweet time getting places.

Pacing matters, but two nights to finish one movie is wild.

Nah man I totally disagree. The slow pace is what makes it great from the start. If you're falling asleep that's on you not the movie. Some of us actually like watching a story unfold without having to be punched in the face every five minutes. The acting really is something else though, I'll give you that. But honestly if you need two nights to get through it maybe this just isn't your kind of thing.
